The Machining Group (TMG) is a leading player in the machining and fabrication industry, committed to delivering high quality machining and fabrication work to our diverse clientele.
As we continue to expand, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager to join our team to provide leadership to TJ Machine & Tool.
In this role you will manage both people and production at our location in Azle, Texas.
In this role you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations, production, quality, safety, and personnel management.
Ideally you will have a strong background in manufacturing management and a proven track record of driving operational excellence, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.
This role will require hands-on leadership and the ability to adapt to the unique challenges and opportunities within this environment.
Major Responsibilities Estimating/quoting project costs and working with customers Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints and drawings accurately.
Understanding material and labor requirements to successfully complete projects Supervising and training staff Creating and managing the staff, maintenance, and planning work schedules Overseeing work to anticipate, detect, and address factors that impede operations.
Meeting with management to deliver feedback and develop work optimization strategies.
Implementing strategies to optimize workflow and operational efficiency.
Ensuring that all equipment and machinery are properly operated and maintained.
Monitoring inventory levels and replenishing supplies as needed.
Performing administrative tasks such as updating and filing equipment orders, stock receipts, and staff schedules Participation in strategy sessions with other business unit leadership.
Monitoring and reporting performance metrics.
Implementing continuous improvements.
Dynamic problem-solving.
Building relationships within and between teams.
Pursuit of corporate business goals.
Promotion of a respectful, accountable, and challenging work environment.
Mentoring others, often with hands-on coaching at various levels of the organization.
Management and allocation of company assets.
Leading operations, accounting, engineering, and sales teams.
Including but not limited to:
P&L performance of the company including:
Sales Direct costs of production, including direct labor and materials Overhead management Operating costs Effective management of resources entrusted to the company including:
Capital budget requests.
Preventative maintenance schedules Inventory management Employee management Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the President.
Skills Required College Degree, diploma/red seal, and experience as a journeyperson 10
years manufacturing experience 5
years supervisory experience Experience with Microsoft Office Excellent verbal and written communication skills Good time management and problem-solving skills Experience in the machining industry is a must, with a background in metal components.
Successful legacy of meeting goals for consecutive years.
Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently.
Familiarity with ERP software and accounting analytics tools.
Salary Range:
$100,000-140,000 Competitive salary and bonus program.
